WAEC Attestation Certificate: Replacement for Misplaced Certificates
Are you a victim of lost, stolen, or burnt WAEC Original Certificate? The Original WAEC Certificate has been one of the most crucial document required of candidates seeking admission into higher institution.
Following the event of WAEC Issuing Attestation of Result to Muhammadu Buhari which got the tongues of many individuals wagging, the West African Examination hereby wishes to clarify the public on the reason of Issuing Attestation of results to any individual.
According to the West African Examination Council Issuing of Original Certificate is done Once.
Due to this reason it is now impossible for Candidates who lost or Misplaced their Original Certificate to get a new one, and for this reason the board introduced the issuance of attestation of results where affected candidates are to report to any WAEC Office in the State he or she sat for the examination and apply for “Attestation of Results”.
The Introduction was announced on 10th of August, 2015 via a Tweet made from the WAEC Twitter account.
NOTE:
- The Attestation of Result confirms that the individual registered and sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination [WASSCE].
- Attestation of Result is in no way an Original WAEC Certificate.
- Attestation of Results is given to a candidate whose certificate is damaged or missing
- It carries the passport photo the candidate submitted during application.
- Subjects that a candidate had F9s are no longer captured in certificates or Attestation of Results
- WAEC in the five member countries do not issue a certificate twice;
- WAEC was established on March 16, 1952.
- It can also be called a Statement of Result
Applicants of this can use the document for admission purposes, jobs and other places which requires an Original WAEC Certificates.
Furthermore the Organizations/Companies can also verify the authenticity of the WAEC Statement of Result/Attestation by be forwarding it to the individual respective school or to WAEC for proper verification.
