The results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination will be published, according to the National Examinations Council’s announcement on Thursday.
NECO’s Registrar, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, made the announcement in Minna, Niger state.
The NECO chairman reported that 59,124 candidates took the exam, with 31,316 men making up 52.96 percent of the applicant pool and 27,808 women making up 47.03 percent.
Wushishi added that there were 58,012 applicants who took the English Language exam, of which 44,162 (or 76.13 percent) obtained a Credit or higher. There were 57,700 applicants who took the Mathematics exam, with 43,096 (or 74.69 percent) obtaining a Credit or higher.
33,914 candidates (57.36%) obtained five or more credits, including English Language and Mathematics, he also disclosed.

Also, 46,825 candidates, or 79.20%, obtained five credits or higher regardless of English Language and Mathematics, he said.
On the matter of examination malpractice, he stated, “11,419 candidates were booked for various forms of malpractice in 2022, compared to 4,454 in 2021, indicating a significant increase in the number of malpractice cases.”
According to him, this is largely attributable to the monitoring officers’ improved strategy and methods.
“This resulted in the blacklisting of four supervisors, one from each of the states of Rivers and Plateau and two from the state of Ogun for aiding and abetting as well as poor supervision,” he explained.
The 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination, External, according to MySchoolGist, was administered by NECO from 21 November to 21 December 2022 and is being released 57 days later.
As was the case in 2021, Wushishi stated that a total of 29 subjects were examined during the examination.
